Administrative Assistant

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to support the efforts of the Administration unit and program staff. The position will work closely with the Director of Administration to complete assigned tasks to achieve unit and organizational goals.

Duties include: 

  • Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls.  Provides administrative support to program staff, including word processing, data entry, and organizing incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Maintains common areas, including front office, main conference room, and kitchen. Orders and maintains supplies for the kitchen, ensuring that stocks are available at all times. Works with building management to address any concerns or updates. 

  • Performs specialized office support work, which requires the exercise of independent judgment, the application of technical skills, and a detailed knowledge of the activities and procedures specific to the unit to which assigned.  Manages meeting logistics, travel, conference and event planning support to all units within Equal Justice Works.

  • Assists in the procurement of office supplies, furniture, and equipment for staff as directed by the Chief Operating Officer and IT Specialist. This includes computer hardware and software, printer and office set ups for staff. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or three years of related work experience.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database applications.
