GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to support the organization and to ensure all office and administrative tasks are managed efficiently. The position will report to the Director of Administration. We are looking for an individual who is efficient and provides exceptional customer service, have attention for details, manage competing demands, will work well under pressure, and be a team player.  Schedule is 8:45 am to 5:30 pm M-F. 

Duties include: 

  • Answer incoming calls, receives and screens/greets visitors
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system
  • Perform data entry and manages record keeping of checks.
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence
  • Responsible for maintaining office supplies and inventory
  • Maintains common areas, main conference rooms, and keeps kitchens tidy through the day
  • Manage calendar for human resources, requests for conference rooms, and assist in resolving any administrative problems
  • Assists with organizing office events
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduates degree preferred or two to three years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs with expertise in (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database applications
  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salary range for the Administrative Assistant is $35,000 – 40,000.  Equal Justice Works offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package commensurate with education and experience, including loan repayment assistance, full healthcare coverage, dental and 401k.  Please send your completed application, which should include a letter of interest and CV/resume.
