DESCRIPTION
The Senior Manager of Alumni Engagement is responsible for creating and executing a strategy to engage a community of 2000+ Equal Justice Works Fellowship Alumni. This position will help the organization increase its capacity to provide meaningful alumni engagement opportunities, amplify the lifelong value and community of Equal Justice Works Fellowships, and increase alumni participation in mission advancement. Through the creation of this position, we aim to better connect our community of Alumni with each other and our broader community, including law students, lawyers, legal services organizations, and supporters to promote a lifelong commitment to public service and equal justice.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and execute on a robust alumni engagement strategy, including creation of key goals and measurements, and a work plan that is aligned with Equal Justice Works’ three-year Strategic Plan
  • Create and manage systems and processes that will directly support Alumni in building relationships with Equal Justice Works, each other, Fellows, law students, and the broader community
  • Oversee platform and systems integration to ensure accurate and timely data collection, analysis, and reporting; management of email, social media, website, and internal CRM platforms as they relate to alumni engagement
  • Serve as key point of contact for Alumni
  • In close partnership with the Marketing & Communications team, develop a strategy for Alumni virtual and in-person communications that supports the broader alumni engagement strategy
  • Build strong relationships with Alumni
  • Optimize current alumni engagement approaches and incorporate new initiatives aligned to the strategic plan to keep the network engaged and connected
  • Convene groups of Fellows and Alumni to strengthen our community and network
  • Develop and manage Alumni strategic priorities as it relates to all Equal Justice Works events, including Conference and Career Fair, Leadership Development Training, Annual Dinner, and others as needed
  • Serve on Strategic Management Team, working closely with Equal Justice Works leadership to develop and implement Alumni Engagement Strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, JD or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Candidate should have knowledge of the public interest law sector, understanding of social justice issues, and familiarity with non-profit organizations. Experience with other alumni, membership association, or fellowship programs a plus.
  • Understanding of and comfortable using social media channels, CRM database, and email marketing tools.
  • Effective outreach, communication, and community management skills.
  • Customer service experience and orientation.
  • Self-starter and ability to manage up.
  • Excellent project management skills. Proactive problem-solver.
  • Supervisory experience preferred. Experience mentoring/coaching a plus.
  • Five years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience using a CRM platform required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel required 15-20%.
