Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Partners with hiring managers to identify recruitment needs and strategy
  • Assists in talent acquisition and recruitment processes by sourcing applicants and developing job advertisements using a variety of methods including social media
  • Screens applicants for qualifications by reviewing resumes and conducting initial interviews
  • May assist hiring managers with scheduling interviews, arranging travel, and escorting applicants to interviews
  • Responsible for: preparation of offer letters, new hire paperwork, background checks, e-verify, issuing keys, and other related on-boarding processes
  • Coordinates employee onboarding and new hire orientation with program offices
  • Prepares and conducts presentation on benefits during new hire orientation to ensure employees receive information on enrollment and coverage provisions
  • Manages intern program
  • Participates in job fairs

Payroll and Benefits

  • Facilitate bi-weekly processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Ensures that tax forms, direct deposit information, and regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay are processed correctly
  • Responsible for initiating and maintaining Worker’s Compensation claims and ensures claims are processed timely
  • Evaluates and implements payroll/HRIS changes
  • Administers all employee benefits programs including enrollments and terminations
  • Coordinates with Accounting to conduct periodic audits of all benefits programs to ensure accuracy and reports findings to HR Director
  • Responsible for out-processing of benefits programs including sending COBRA letters, cancelling insurance if applicable, collecting keys, and closing out personnel files
  • Monitors leave requests and balances
  • Administers 401k program including distribution process and year end compliance

HR Administration

  • Assists HR Director with updating and maintaining the Employee Manual
  • Prepares presentations and conducts briefings on various HR related topics
  • Maintains and updates all job descriptions
  • Responsible for all reporting requirements EEO, OSHA, etc.
  • Provides support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leave and compensation and resolves most issues that may arise
  • Promotes HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Assists in development and implementation of human resources policies and/or standard operating procedures
  • Performs tasks to support performance management, e.g., notifies managers of required employee performance reviews, maintains performance evaluation forms and provides advisory service
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and/or paper form
  • Enhances job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and organizing team building activities as directed


  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist
  • SHRM CP certification desired
  • Skill in applying knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; particularly PowerPoint, and HRIS systems is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills in order to conduct presentations and interact with diverse people
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
  • BS/BA in Business administration or relevant field
  • HR training in recruitment, benefits, or payroll is a plus
